Thor Data Center is a progressive company that conceives solutions for storing your data with zero carbon footprint. Some of the best IT people in Iceland have recently put their heads together to implement a datacenter facility that utilizes what Iceland has plenty of: green emission-free energy and affordable natural free cooling environment. Power N+1!The racks within each container are independently double fed from its enterprise class N+1 UPS system. The power feed is 400A to 800A to each POD and 16/32/64A feed to each rack. Power is monitored to the individual container and individual racks on request.
The UPS’ design per container is dual UPS with 8-minute runtime on max load per container and backed up with diesel generators.
The benefit of this Enterprise class UPS system is its Mean Time To Restore (MTTR) which enables the Operations team to replace individual modules with onsite spares. The N+ 1 system also combines “hot spares” so in the event of failure the modular based system will automatically engage its redundant spare.
